The Tucson Police Department, with assistance from the Tucson Police Foundation, is happy to announce the beginning of the fourth year of the START program. The START program is designed to give teen drivers hands on driver training experience in accident avoidance techniques. Teenagers 16-19 years of age with a valid drivers license are eligible to attend. The classes are held on scheduled Saturdays throughout the school year. Registration is held on line through the Tucson Police Foundation at www.tucsonpolicefoundation.org.
The class is free, however there is a suggested donation of $25 to the Foundation. We appreciate the help of our partners, State Farm Insurance and the Jim Click Automotive Group.
If you have any questions regarding the training or the program, Please call Sgt. Steve Culbertson in Traffic at 837-7238 or Kara Curtis at 791-4467 (START coordinator) or the Tucson Police Foundation at 207-2878.
